Job summary

Aspen Dental is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support clinicians and improve patient flow. You will perform chairside duties, assist doctors during procedures, and help manage operatory setups.

Requirements include state-appropriate Dental Assistant licensure, radiology certification, CPR/BLS, and 2+ years of experience. Knowledge of sterilization and HIPAA compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant License/Registration as required by state.
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certificate.
• 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrate proper sterilization and infection control techniques.
• Maintain annual CE requirement as specified by state.
• State certification in expanded functions as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the direction to DA office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist the doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory and ensure staff are trained.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, autoclave, and related equipment.
• Tray and operatory setup for all procedures.
• Support charting for doctors at a proficient level.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
