Job summary

Aspen Dental in the United States is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support daily operations, assist doctors, and manage patient flow. You will perform radiographs, sterilization, and chairside duties while educating patients and maintaining charting accuracy.

The role requires 2+ years of experience, state licensure, and CPR/BLS certification, with OSHA/HIPAA compliance and CE maintenance. A team-oriented, collaborative culture and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant license/registration/certification as required by state.
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrate sterilization and infection control techniques.
• Maintain annual CE requirements; state expanded functions if required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily Expanded Functions to support patient care.
• Assist doctors and DA office team to maintain patient flow.
• Assist doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms after procedures and sterilize equipment.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, autoclave, and equipment.
• Prepare trays and operatory setups for procedures.
• Support patient charting and educate patients on care.
• Train others on patient handoffs and flow within the practice.
• Comply with OSHA and HIPAA safety requirements.
• Take dental radiographs and provide post-procedure care instructions.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and care strategies.
• Assist with denture relines and temporary crowns; manage lab cases as needed.
• Monitor supply orders and manage practice budget; perform other tasks.
