Job summary

Aspen Dental is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support dentists and hygienists in daily patient care. You will assist with operatory setup, radiographs, sterilization, and patient education in a fast-paced private practice.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant License, Registration, Certification as required by state.
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certificate.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrate and provide instruction on proper sterilization and infection control techniques.
• Maintain and update annual CE requirement as specified by state.
• State Certification in expanded functions as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist with directing the DA office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory and ensure staff are trained.
• Follow maintenance schedules for flushing waterlines and equipment.
• Tray and operatory set-up for all procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
• Follow OSHA and HIPAA requirements.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies.
• Create and adjust denture relines and temporary crowns.
• Monitor and aid in management of laboratory cases.
• Perform intraoral health scans and impressions.
