Job summary

Aspen Dental is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support patient care and maintain efficient operatory flow. You will assist doctors during procedures, ensure sterilization compliance, and help manage patient flow throughout the day.

The role requires a current Dental Assistant license, radiology certification, CPR/BLS, and at least 2 years of chairside experience. The position includes a strong benefits package and opportunities for CE through TAG U.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant License/Certification as required by state.
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certificate.
• 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrate and provide instruction on proper sterilization and infection control techniques.
• Maintain and update annual CE requirement as specified by state.
• State Certification in expanded functions as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist with directing the DA office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist the doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory and ensure staff are trained on the process.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, suction lines, autoclave, and compressor.
• Tray and operatory set-up for all procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
• Follow OSHA and Aspen safety requirements, including HIPAA.
