Job summary

Aspen Dental is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support doctors and hygienists, manage patient flow, sterilize equipment, and maintain operatory readiness.

You will perform radiographs, assist chairside, train others, follow OSHA/HIPAA, order supplies, and participate in ongoing CE. State licenses and radiology certs are required; 2+ years' experience preferred; Aspen offers benefits, training, and a supportive culture.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant license/registration/certification as required by state.
• Radiology (X-ray) certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certificate.
• 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient at chairside assisting/four‑handed dentistry.
• Maintain and update annual CE requirement as specified by state.
• State Certification in expanded functions as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist with directing the DA office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist the doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory and ensure staff compliance.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines/suction lines, autoclave, and compressor on a regular basis.
• Tray and operatory set‑up for all procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors at a proficient level.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow within the practice.
• Follow OSHA regulations and Aspen safety requirements, including HIPAA compliance.
• Take dental radiographs (X‑rays).
• Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies to maintain health.
• Monitor and aid in management of laboratory cases.
