Job summary

Aspen Dental is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support doctors and the dental team. The role focuses on patient care, efficient operatory setup, and adherence to infection control standards to build trust and patient loyalty.

You will assist with multiple procedures, manage operatory setup, and participate in maintaining equipment and room readiness in a fast-paced practice.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant license/registration as required by state.
• State radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certificate.
• 2+ years of experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient at chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrate sterilization and infection control techniques.
• Maintain annual CE requirements as specified by state.
• State certification in expanded functions as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors and the office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist the doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory and ensure staff are trained.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines and suction lines, autoclave, and compressors.
• Set up trays and operatories for procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
