Job summary

Aspen Dental is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support daily patient care and office operations. You will assist with patient flow, help doctors during procedures, and ensure proper sterilization and compliance across the practice.

You will train others in handoffs, manage supplies, and perform radiographs and post-procedure patient education. This role emphasizes safety, infection control, and high-quality patient care within a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Current Dental Assistant License and radiology certification.
• CPR or BLS certification.
• Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry.
• Knowledge of sterilization and infection control techniques.
• Ability to order and maintain supplies.
• Maintain CE requirements and state expanded functions as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with directing DA office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist doctors during treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, autoclave, and compressors.
• Tray and operatory setup for all procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
• Follow OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
• Take dental radiographs.
• Provide instructions for oral care after procedures.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies.
• Complete denture relines and temporary crowns.
• Monitor and aid in laboratory cases.
• Perform intraoral health scans.
• Understand clear aligner process and impressions.
• Perform expanded functions per certification.
• Ensure emergency kits and oxygen tanks are maintained.
• Order and maintain supplies.
• Perform various office tasks as necessary.
