Job summary

Aspen Dental is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our growing practice. You will support dentists, manage operatory flow, and ensure sterilization and infection control protocols are followed, contributing to a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Dental Assistant license/registration as required by state.
• State radiology certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrate and provide instruction on proper sterilization and infection control techniques.
• Maintain and update annual CE requirement as specified by state.
• State Certification in expanded functions as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the direction to DA office team throughout the day to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist the doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory and ensure staff are trained.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, autoclave, and compressor.
• Tray and operatory set-up for procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
• Follow OSHA regulations and Aspen safety requirements, including HIPAA.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Provide patients with oral care instructions post-treatment.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies.
• Complete denture relines and temporary crowns.
• Monitor and aid in management of laboratory cases.
• Perform intraoral health scans and impressions.
• Assist with expanded functions based on certification.
• Ensure emergency kits and oxygen tanks are maintained.
• Order and maintain supplies.
• Perform various office tasks.
