Job summary

Risas Dental and Braces is seeking a highly motivated Bilingual Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our team in Phoenix. You will work closely with doctors, providing chair-side support and educating patients on treatment and oral health.

The role involves advanced EFDA duties, radiography, coronal polish, and patient charting while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and regulatory compliance. We offer growth, cross-training, and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EFDA Certification preferred.
• X-ray certification required.
• Coronal polish certification required.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of dental clinical operations and terminology.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the doctor and patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist doctors at chair-side with all aspects of dental treatment.
• Perform advanced EFDA duties: coronal polish, sealants, crown prep, denture impressions and adjustments.
• Sterilize, disinfect, and prepare instruments and equipment for patient treatment.
• Educate patients on general oral healthcare as directed by the doctor.
• Present treatment to patients based on Doctor recommendations.
• Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures of patients in a timely manner.
• Record patient charting and notes in the digital chart as directed.
• Provide continuous support and training to teammates.
• Store and maintain inventory and supplies in all dental work areas.
• Ensure compliance with State, Federal, OSHA, HIPAA and company policies.
• Perform additional advanced duties as requested by Doctors or Office Manager.

Our EDDAs are empowered to be more independent chairside when educating patients on dental treatment and oral health. Responsibilities

• Assists the doctors at chair-side with all aspects of dental treatment
• Performs advanced dental assisting treatment including coronal polish, sealants, crown prep, denture impressions and adjustments, packing cord, and Class II fillings
• Sterilize, disinfect, and prepare instruments and equipment for patient treatment
• Educate patients on general oral healthcare as directed by the doctor
• Presenting treatment to patients based on Doctor recommendations
• Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures of patients in an efficient and timely manner
• Record patient charting and all the doctor’s notes in the digital patient chart as directed
• Provides continuous support, training, and feedback to teammates
• Store and maintain inventory and adequate supplies in all dental work areas
• Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, and Risas policies and practices)
• Perform additional advanced duties as requested by Doctors or Office Manager

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish/English
• High School Diploma or GED required
• EFDA Certification preferred
• 3 years' experience in the dental field preferred
• X-ray certification
• Coronal polish certification
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Must be highly skilled, trained, and have superior knowledge of dental clinical operations and terminology
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the doctor and patients
• Must have a warm, friendly, outgoing personality and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work within a team environment and lendsupport, as a team player, to teammates as needed.
