Job summary

RisasDental and Braces is seeking a highly motivated bilingual Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our team. You will work hands-on with doctors, educate patients on dental treatment and oral health, and assist in delivering exceptional care while maintaining patient flow.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish/English is required or preferred.
• EFDA certification is preferred.
• X-ray and coronal polish certifications are required or preferred as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assists doctors at chair-side with all dental treatment.
• Performs advanced dental assisting tasks (coronal polish, sealants, crown prep, denture impressions, adjustments, packing cord, class II fillings).
• Sterilize, disinfect and prepare instruments for patient treatment.
• Educate patients on oral health as directed by doctor.
• Present treatment plans to patients based on doctor recommendations.
• Take and complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures efficiently.
• Record patient charts and doctor notes in digital system.
• Provide ongoing training and support to teammates.
• Maintain inventory in dental work areas.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and practice policies.
• Perform additional duties as requested by doctors or office manager.

We are seeking a highly motivated, positive, and professional Bilingual Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our Risas Family. Our EDDAs are empowered to be more independent chairside when educating patients on dental treatment and oral health. Our EDDAs work hands on with the doctors, in providing exceptional care for our patients while working efficiently to maintain patient flow.

Responsibilities

• Assists the doctors at chair-side with all aspects of dental treatment
• Performs advanced dental assisting treatment including coronal polish, sealants, crown prep, denture impressions and adjustments, packing cord, and Class II fillings
• Sterilize, disinfect, and prepare instruments and equipment for patient treatment
• Educate patients on general oral healthcare as directed by the doctor
• Presenting treatment to patients based on Doctor recommendations
• Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures of patients in an efficient and timely manner
• Record patient charting and all the doctor’s notes in the digital patient chart as directed
• Provides continuous support, training, and feedback to teammates
• Store and maintain inventory and adequate supplies in all dental work areas
• Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, and Risas policies and practices)
• Perform additional advanced duties as requested by Doctors or Office Manager

Qualifications

• Bilingual in Spanish/English
• High School Diploma or GED required
• EFDA Certification preferred
• 3 years' experience in the dental field preferred
• X-ray certification
• Coronal polish certification
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Must be highly skilled, trained, and have superior knowledge of dental clinical operations and terminology
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the doctor and patients
• Must have a warm, friendly, outgoing personality and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work within a team environment and lendsupport, as a team player, to teammates as needed.
