Munich Re Specialty - North America seeks a Head of Professional Liability Claims to lead a multi-disciplinary Claims team in the Commercial space, overseeing Financial & Professional Lines, Healthcare, and related areas. This role sits on the MRSNA Leadership Team and partners with Underwriting, Actuarial, and Operations to drive best practices.

Candidates bring 10+ years in claims and at least 3 years of management, with excellence in leadership, communication, and insurance knowledge.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in claims and/or legal experience.
• 3+ years in management with leadership track record.
• Experience with public entity multi-line E&O, malpractice, D&O, EPLI, cyber, fiduciary, crime, and transactional liability.
• Strong capability in coverage analysis and risk assessment.
• Ability to build and mentor high-performing teams.
• Inspirational and effective leadership with strategic vision.
• Excellent and diplomatic communication skills.
• Broad understanding of the insurance business landscape.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary Claims team handling investigation, reserving, expense management, and settlements per Best Practices.
• Oversee strategy for high exposure, litigated, coverage and complex claims; escalate as needed.
• Support team development and career growth through coaching and feedback.
• Present key claim issues and initiatives to leadership and stakeholders across functions.
• Drive technical and operational initiatives and continuous improvement.
• Foster collaboration with internal and external partners to strengthen business through market engagement.
• Promote positivity and inclusion within the Complex Claims group.
