Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead the Nursing Services department. This role plans, directs, and coordinates overall nursing operations in alignment with regulatory standards and facility policies, reporting to the Administrator and Medical Director.

The position requires an unrestricted California RN license, at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting, and current CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN license in California.
• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisor experience in a hospital, nursing home, or related health care facility.
• Knowledge of nursing and medical practices, and relevant laws and regulations for long-term care.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop and direct Nursing Services operations in compliance with state/federal laws and facility policies.
• Interpret and communicate policies to nursing staff and monitor practices.
• Participate in admission decisions and management team meetings.
• Evaluate nursing staff performance and apply disciplinary actions per policy.
• Participate in QAPI and performance improvement activities as needed.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and budget to meet resident needs and regulatory standards.
• Recruit, hire and terminate nursing personnel.
