Job summary

National Life Group is seeking a Chief Risk Officer to lead enterprise risk management, governance, and risk oversight across the organization. This executive role reports to the COO and partners with the Board to set risk appetite and strategic risk responses.

The CRO will drive ORSA processes, model governance, and analytics, while guiding governance across functions and ensuring strong ethics and accountability within the risk function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Minimum 15 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in financial services.

Responsibilities

• Own the company’s risk appetite and limit structure aligned with strategy and regulatory environment.
• Oversee ORSA delivery and coordinate actions with COO, CEO and Board.
• Chair enterprise risk committees and report to the Board on risk profile and solvency.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit, Compliance, Legal, and Security to align risk oversight.
• Lead data analytics and AI-enabled insights within the risk function.
• Develop and retain high-performing risk talent and foster a culture of ethics and accountability.
