Job summary

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh is seeking an Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations for The Commoner, banquets, and catering. You will hire, train, and supervise chefs and kitchen staff, and collaborate with marketing on events.

Maintain high food quality, control costs, and ensure safety and compliance across all kitchen activities. You will develop menus reflecting current trends and guest preferences, while managing budgets and vendor relations to deliver exceptional dining

Qualifications

• Must have ServSafe, CPR and/or First Aid certification.
• Strong math skills for budgeting and cost reporting.
• Experience as Executive Chef required.
• Knowledge of menu development, recipe creation and food costing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the culinary operation of The Commoner, Banquets and Catering events.
• Interview, hire, train, supervise, schedule and manage chefs and kitchen staff.
• Monitor production, quality, costs and inventory to meet productivity standards.
• Collaborate with Marketing on programming and special events.
• Ensure safety, sanitation and compliance with health codes.
• Provide ongoing training and development for kitchen team.
