Job summary

Morrison Healthcare, a Compass Group USA company, is seeking an Executive Chef to lead culinary operations within a healthcare setting in Birmingham, AL.

As Executive Chef, you will supervise kitchen staff, plan menus, ensure food safety, train employees, and uphold quality standards in a high-volume, patient-focused operation. Relocation assistance is available.

This role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a passion for nutritious, patient-centered dining.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
• A.S. or equivalent experience.
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience.
• Hands-on chef experience required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends.
• Must be experienced with computers; MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Plans regular and modified menus according to established guidelines.
• Follows standardized recipes, portioning and presentation standards; utilizes production worksheets.
• Trains kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation and sanitation.
• Maintains cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage and work areas.
• Maintains inventory to stay within guidelines and ensures product availability.
• Ensures compliance with health and sanitation regulations and audits.
• Participates in departmental meetings and staff development.
