Job summary

Knightscope, headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA, is migrating its payroll systems and seeks a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk. You will gather historical payroll data from ADP TotalSource and ADP Workforce Now, verify records, and support the payroll team through transition and ongoing data integrity tasks.

Responsibilities include coordinating with ADP and internal teams, reconciling benefits data, building Excel tools, and ensuring strict confidentiality of payroll information.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (2 years) in accounting or business admin, or 1–2 years of payroll experience.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and multi-file comparisons.
• Knowledge of payroll principles (gross-to-net, deductions, withholdings, GL basics).
• Experience with ADP TotalSource and/or ADP Workforce Now preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end payroll systems migration: download, extract, and organize multi-year payroll data from ADP systems.
• Coordinate with ADP account reps and implementation team on data formats and migration timelines.
• Collect and reconcile benefits and retirement plan data, verify employee records as needed.
• Perform side-by-side comparisons across multiple payroll reports and data exports to ensure accuracy.
• Build and troubleshoot Excel workbooks and formulas to support reconciliation and reporting.
• Identify discrepancies and help build repeatable data migration processes.
• Provide post go-live payroll support: timesheets, overtime calculations, onboarding payroll data.
