Job summary

Konnect is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll processing and ensure compliance across client cycles. You will handle data entry, timekeeping reviews, deductions, and reporting while maintaining strict confidentiality.

The role emphasizes accuracy, timely payroll delivery, and collaboration with the Payroll Administrator. This position requires familiarity with HRIS platforms (ADP, Paylocity, Dayforce), solid Excel skills, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, HR, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of one year of payroll processing or payroll support experience.
• Familiarity with payroll or HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Dayforce) and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Basic understanding of payroll fundamentals, including gross-to-net calculation, pay frequencies, and standard deductions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and enter payroll data for assigned client payroll cycles, including hires, terminations, and changes, and submit to Payroll Administrator for review.
• Verify timesheets and wage computations, following up to correct missing or inconsistent records.
• Maintain employee payroll records consistent with source HRIS data.
• Enter and maintain routine payroll deductions and withholdings, including benefits and taxes.
• Perform standard pre- and post-processing checks and report variances for resolution.
• Respond to routine payroll inquiries and escalate complex questions to senior staff.
• Generate and distribute recurring payroll reports on set schedules.
• Process off-cycle items like manual checks and payroll adjustments as directed.
