Job summary

APAC Mississippi, Inc. is seeking a versatile laborer to contribute to construction and paving projects on site. You will help with shoveling, raking, material handling, and moving equipment while maintaining a safe, compliant work environment.

The role requires adherence to safety standards, willingness to work outdoors in various temperatures, and the ability to follow directions from the supervisor to support daily project tasks and timelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Experience in construction preferred.
• Ability to pass drug screen and background check.
• Comfort with outdoor work in varying temperatures.
• Willingness to travel and work nights/weekends if required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
• Follow OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Report any problems to your manager.
• Assist construction/paving crew with shoveling, raking, and running wheelbarrow.
• Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
• Follow directions of the manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each project or site.
• May be called upon to run small power tools such as jack hammer.
• Dig, spread and level construction materials.
• Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies.
• Assist in placing, moving and dismantling signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
