Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to obtain the appropriate license as required by law.
  • Associate degree in related field and two years’ experience in a high-volume Stewarding Supervisory position or two years’ management experience in the department.
  • Five years’ related work experience in a high-volume stewarding setting.
  • Three years’ related experience in a casino high-volume stewarding setting preferred.
  • NYC DOH training certificates are required or preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in employee selection, interviewing and recommending hires.
  • Set performance standards and align with organizational goals.
  • Direct, train and develop Kitchen Utility staff and allocate workload.
  • Train staff on chemicals and sanitary handling of equipment.
  • Oversee banquet set-up and breakdown and assign duties as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with department rules, policies and safety regulations.
  • Maintain clean and sanitized work areas and manage supplies.
  • Foster ownership, motivation and teamwork among staff.
