Job summary

Resorts World Catskills is seeking a Shift Manager EVS to oversee cleaning staff, ensure high-standard maintenance, and coordinate with Engineering on work orders. The role requires supervising teams, enforcing five-star standards, and ensuring safe, compliant operations.

The ideal candidate has extensive housekeeping supervisory experience, preferably in a luxury or resort casino setting, and must meet licensing requirements with the New York State Gaming Commission.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Associates’ Degree in related field.
• Five (5) years’ relevant experience managing housekeeping with two (2) years’ experience in a Supervisory position for a high-volume luxury property.
• Previous experience in a five-star facility strongly preferred.
• Previous experience in a resort casino environment strongly preferred.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate license through the New York State Gaming Commission.
• Knowledge of all cleaning products and where they should be used.

Responsibilities

• Supervise cleaning personnel to ensure areas are clean and well maintained according to standards.
• Assign duties to staff and inspect work to maintain standards.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance and general cleaning.
• Follow up on work orders with Engineering until completion.
• Conduct daily pre-shift meetings with room attendants and house attendants.
• Investigate complaints and take corrective action.
• Issue supplies and oversee proper usage.
• Ensure staff are trained to work safely and efficiently within regulations.
• Prepare and submit essential paperwork and reports.
• Demonstrate knowledge of chemicals and equipment used by the department.
• Recruit, hire, train, recognize, coach and counsel staff as needed.
• Conduct annual performance reviews and monitor progress for all department employees.
• Train new hires and monitor their progress.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

The Shift Manager EVS is responsible for the supervision of work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure that areas are clean and well maintained in accordance to established standards during assigned shifts.

Essential Functions:

• Upholds and complies with 5-star standards at all times.
• Assigns duties to department employees and inspect their work to ensure that standards are maintained.
• Coordinates and inspects preventative maintenance and general cleaning.
• Coordinates work orders with the Engineering Department and follow up until completion.
• Conducts daily pre-shift meeting with room attendants and house attendants.
• Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping services and equipment and take corrective action.
• Issues supplies and equipment to workers and oversee proper usage.
• Ensure employees are trained to work safely and efficiently within current regulatory guidelines.
• Prepare, maintain, and submit essential paperwork and reports.
• Demonstrate a thorough working knowledge of all chemicals and equipment used by the department.
• Ensures effective recruitment, hiring, training, recognition, coaching and counseling and other personnel related matters are being handled appropriately throughout assigned departments.
• Facilitates and ensures that performance reviews of all employees within department are complete on a yearly basis.
• Participates in training new hires and monitor their progress.
• Performs other tasks as assigned.
