Job summary

The Michaels Companies is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and execute in-store events at our Pitt Township location in the Pittsburgh area. You will coordinate children’s parties and craft classes, ensuring a fun, engaging, and safe experience for guests.

You will work closely with clients and store teammates, handle communications, setup and breakdown of events, and help with related tasks such as inventory, merchandising, and post-event follow-up to maintain our brand promises.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality with a positive attitude.
• Must have excellent people skills and experience working with children and children’s events.
• Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication, and listening.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Retail and/or customer service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once (children’s parties and crafts).
• Engage with clients of all ages and teach craft projects.
• Demonstrate and instruct party activities, including face painting.
• Coordinate add-ons like goody bags and balloons per standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team; manage emails and calls.
• Set up, break down, and clean after each event.
• Uphold cleanliness and safety standards in the store.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
