Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. is seeking an energetic events coordinator to plan and run in-store events and children's parties. You will work with store teams to deliver a fun, safe, and creative experience for guests while guiding activities and managing logistics.

Responsibilities include coordinating multiple events, assisting customers, performing crafts, and handling administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and coordinating events, including children’s parties.
• Ability to engage customers of all ages and provide friendly service.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; able to handle multiple tasks.
• Retail or customer service experience required.
• Experience demonstrating activities or crafts with participants is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
• Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
• Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs.
• Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
• Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
• Cross trained in Custom Framing selling and production.
• Participate in daily store cleanliness activities including (but not limited to) sweeping, vacuuming, dusting.
