Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. seeks an Event Coordinator to plan and run children's parties and craft events in a Michaels store. You will engage customers, instruct participants in crafts, and coordinate add-ons like goody bags and balloons, ensuring a fun, safe, and organized environment.

You will also support store operations, handle inquiries, and assist with daily tasks to maintain excellent customer experiences.

Qualifications

Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Retail or customer service experience required.
Ability to engage customers and coordinate activities.

Responsibilities

Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.
Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.
Communicate events with clients and store team members.
Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.
Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs.
Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.
Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards. Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
