Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Exton, PA is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan and execute children’s birthday parties and craft classes within the store. You will engage customers of all ages, lead craft activities, and upsell event add-ons such as goody bags and balloons while maintaining store standards.

You will also support checkout, VOC surveys, and omni-channel processes, with an emphasis on safety, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction during events.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent people skills.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate events at Michaels stores, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages and create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct participants in crafts and activities; perform face painting.
• Facilitate event add-ons (goody bags, balloons) per company standards.
• Assist customers, locate products, and provide solutions; support checkout and rewards enrollment.
• Assist with stock, planograms, and store cleanliness as part of event support.
