Job summary

PCMA is seeking a Manager, Event Technology in Chicago, IL to own RainFocus registration and Swapcard mobile app administration for our global events portfolio. You will configure, maintain, and troubleshoot platforms, build event sites, create specs and SOPs, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to meet event goals.

This on-site role requires strong technical and communication skills, cross-functional teamwork, and willingness to travel to North American events.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in event technology or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree, or similar experience.
• Experience serving as a subject matter expert or platform administrator for an event registration system and/or mobile event app.
• Strong technical aptitude to translate requirements into platform configurations.
• Experience creating SOPs, process documentation, or training materials.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills in fast-paced live-event environments.
• Experience utilizing AI tools to create efficiencies in project management.
• Excellent collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders of all levels.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual presentation skills.
• Ability to travel as required to PCMA events.

Responsibilities

• Serve as PCMA’s internal point person for RainFocus and Swapcard, supporting all events across PCMA’s global event portfolio.
• Lead the end-to-end technical build of RainFocus registration sites and Swapcard mobile apps for each event, configuring workflows, forms, data, and attendee features.
• Develop and maintain detailed specification documents for each event build.
• Create and maintain SOPs for platform administration and troubleshooting.
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting and issue resolution for RainFocus and Swapcard.
• Serve as the primary liaison with RainFocus, Swapcard, and other vendors.
• Cross-train and support other Events team members on RainFocus and Swapcard functionality.
• Partner with Events & Experiences, Marketing, and other stakeholders to align builds with goals, timelines and brand standards.
• Monitor platform performance and data integrity throughout the lifecycle.
• Stay current on product updates and industry trends, recommending improvements.
• Travel on-site to all PCMA events within the North American portfolio for live support.
