Job summary

Walters Wedding Estates in Texas seeks an Event Manager to lead the food and beverage team during events. You'll help hire and train banquet staff, coordinate scheduling, and ensure flawless service aligned with BEOs and safety guidelines.

This part-time role reports to the Operations Manager, requires a college degree or relevant work history with Texas TABC and Food Handlers licenses, and the ability to lift 30 lbs. Weekends, evenings and holidays are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with hiring and training banquet staff, including bartenders, servers and dishwashers.
• Ensure all banquet staff clock in and clock out procedures.
• Assist with scheduling hourly staff for events at the venue.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to drive 5-star reviews and guest satisfaction.
• Follow all safe food handling guidelines.
• Develop employees through training, coaching and feedback during events.
• Lead Food & Beverage and back-of-house operations during events.
• Set up and breakdown of event spaces per BEO.
• Maintain venue cleanliness before and after events.
• Procure and order event supplies, including alcohol, with timely delivery and QC.
• Enforce company standards, policies, and procedures consistently.

Step into the exciting world of event management as an Event Manager, where you'll be at the forefront of our food and beverage team during events. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with the hiring and training of banquet employees, including Bartenders, Servers, and Dishwashers.
• Ensure all banquet staff conduct clock-in and clock-out procedures.
• Assist with scheduling hourly staff for events at your venue location while maintaining the proper level of staffing.
• Ensure 5-star reviews by executing BEOs and delivering exceptional customer service.
• Follow all safe food handling guidelines.
• Nurture and develop employees through training, coaching, and providing constructive feedback during events.
• Spearhead Food and Beverage and back-of-house operations during events.
• Lead the set-up and breakdown of all event spaces according to the outlined BEO.
• Maintain venue cleanliness pre- and post-events.
• May assist with procuring and ordering event and venue-specific supplies, including alcohol, and ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
• Enforce company standards, policies, and procedures consistently.

Qualifications:

• Experience: At least 1 year in a similar role with comparable responsibilities preferred
• Education: College Degree or Applicable Work History, TABC and Food Handlers license required in Texas
• Physical: Able to lift 30 lbs frequently, stand/walk 8-12 hours
• Other:
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States; Walters Hospitality participates in E-Verify
  • Submit/complete background check; have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Compensation & Schedule:

• Part-Time: Weekends and Evenings when events take place
  • Must be available and willing to work weekends, holidays, and late nights
• Hourly: $22 - $24 per hour, based on experience
• 401k with 4% Match
