Job summary

Major Food Group is seeking an experienced Event Line Cook for THE GRILL in New York. You will set up stations, prep ingredients, and coordinate with the kitchen to deliver quality dishes during service.

The role requires at least 2 years in high-volume or fine dining, a culinary diploma preferred, and strong communication. Benefits include comprehensive insurance, PTO, tuition reimbursement, and transit discounts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in high-volume and fine-dining restaurants preferred
• Culinary diploma or equivalent in experience strongly preferred
• Team-oriented and positive attitude
• Strong communication skills a must

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
