Job summary

Oak View Group in Waterloo, IA, is seeking a Line Cook to prepare foods for guests at events in the venue. The Line Cook will provide high-quality, fresh dishes and work in a fast-paced, team‑driven environment.

This part‑time role pays $16.00–$20.00 per hour and requires dependable attendance. Food handling certification is a plus, ServSafe preferred, with the position open until October 23, 2026.

Qualifications

• Previous cook or prep cook experience preferred.
• Able to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife.
• ServeSafe preferred and food handling certificate may be required by state/federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests.
• Prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements.
• Participate as a team player with responsibilities related to preparation, service, and delivery of product.
• Report any maintenance required for kitchen equipment.
• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking.
• Portion, arrange, and garnish food plates for delivery to guests.
• Consult with Executive Chef, Sous Chef or Kitchen Supervisor to plan menus and estimate expected food consumption.
• Demonstrate attendance reliability and punctuality.
