Job summary

Smart City Networks seeks a hands-on Technician to support internet and telecom services at events. This on-site role covers setup to teardown, with exposure to copper/fiber cabling and live problem solving. You will work irregular hours in a fast-paced, energetic environment, delivering exceptional service to exhibitors and event teams.

You’ll gain practical networking experience, learn with a 24/7 NOC support background, and grow in a national convention services team committed to reliability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on, tech-curious, and customer-focused role.
• On-site at events from setup to teardown.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and non-traditional hours.

Responsibilities

• Set up and support internet and telecom connections for exhibitors.
• Read event floor plans and translate into network layouts.
• Install, configure, and test copper and fiber optic cabling.
• Troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity issues.
• Conduct pre-event site checks and post-event breakdowns.
• Maintain accurate documentation of installations and testing.
• Provide responsive customer support during live events.
• Ensure safety and compliance standards are met.
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies.
