Smart City Networks seeks a hands-on Technician to join our Convention Services team. You’ll be onsite at events, ensuring exhibitors are connected and supported from setup to teardown. You’ll gain practical experience with network hardware, cabling, and real-time problem solving while delivering exceptional service.

This entry-level role offers training in IT and telecom networking in a fast-paced, event-driven environment, with long and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Entry-level IT/telecom role with on-site training.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and non-traditional hours.
• Strong customer-service mindset and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Set up and support internet and telecom connections for exhibitors
• Read event floor plans and translate into network layouts
• Install, configure, test copper and fiber cabling
• Troubleshoot wired and wireless connectivity
• Conduct pre-event site checks and post-event breakdowns
• Maintain documentation of installations and testing
• Ensure safety and compliance standards
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies
