Placements24 is assisting a prominent catering company in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, to hire a Catering Service Supervisor. You will lead on-site catering teams, oversee service flow, and ensure adherence to standards and hygiene protocols during large-scale events.

The role requires strong leadership, superb customer service, and the ability to manage multiple events with poise and efficiency in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role in catering or hospitality.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate a service team.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of food and beverage service standards and hygiene protocols.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced event environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise catering staff during event setup, service, and breakdown on-site.
• Enforce company standards for professionalism, appearance, and guest interaction.
• Manage efficient flow of food and beverage service and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Maintain high cleanliness and hygiene in service areas.
• Assist in training new service staff on procedures and protocols.
• Conduct pre-event briefings with the catering team to review details.
• Address and resolve service-related issues or guest complaints promptly.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food.
• Manage inventory of service items (linens, cutlery, glassware) during events.
• Report on event service performance to the Operations Manager.
