Job summary

BMCHS in Boston seeks a customer service liaison to greet patients and accurately collect demographic and regulatory information for registration. You will verify insurance, check eligibility, and collect copays while guiding patients through paperwork and the Meditech system.

Work across Scheduling, Pre certification, inpatient/outpatient departments, and Patient Access to ensure accurate admissions, transfers, and death procedures, while upholding confidentiality and high service standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Graduate
• Some College preferred
• Minimum Experience: 2-4 years in a health care setting with medical terminology and registration/check in experience
• Insurance knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and obtain accurate demographic and regulatory data (HIPAA, Medicare, Mass Pro, JACHO, DPH, EMTALA).
• Verify insurance eligibility and collect copays; ensure correct medical record number via EMPI.
• Provide required forms, obtain signatures, and escort patients; answer phones within 3 rings.
• Assist with registration quality checks; coordinate bed placement and census; support multiple departments.
