Job summary

Advocate Health Chaplain Services is seeking a part-time frontline chaplain with weekend and weekday evening shifts to provide spiritual care, support, and sacraments to patients, families and staff. The role requires formal credentials and board endorsement, with participation in the faith community to maintain standing.

Responsibilities include facilitating conversations about care wishes, ethical dilemmas, and participating in the Mission and Spiritual Care team to ensure integrated services

Qualifications

• Master of Divinity or equivalent Master's program.
• Four CPE units completed.
• Ecclesiastical endorsement from sponsoring faith community.
• Member in good standing with sponsoring faith community.
• 1-3 years of clinical chaplaincy experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centered ministry of spiritual care, support, and sacraments for patients, families, physicians, and hospital personnel.
• Assist patients and families in communicating care wishes through Advance Directives; identify ethical dilemmas.
• Participate in the life and work of the Mission and Spiritual Care department to ensure integrated services.
• Support Advocate Mission, Values and Philosophy in clinical responsibilities.
• Maintain good standing and ecclesiastical endorsement through faith community participation.
