Job summary

Advocate Health in the United States is seeking a part-time chaplain to provide spiritual care, consultation and short-term counseling to patients, families and staff. The role supports educational initiatives and on-call coverage across sites, with emphasis on compassionate care and faith-based guidance.

Required are 4 CPE units and MA/MDiv or equivalent, board certification eligibility, and endorsement by faith group.

Responsibilities

• Delivers wholistic ministry of spiritual care for patients, families, team members and physicians.
• Responds to codes, emergencies and/or crises; supports families and safety initiatives.
• Participates in department/site coverage, including weekends and holidays.
• Consults on patient care planning with emphasis on faith in recovery and values of faith communities.
• Mentors students in clinical pastoral education and supports education programs.
• Supports hospital mission through referrals, consultation and education.
• Engages in educational initiatives and debriefings; participates in committees.
