Job summary

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a chaplain to provide frontline spiritual care for patients, families, team members and physicians. You will deliver spiritual care, consultations and short-term counseling, and facilitate sacraments as needed in line with site policies.

The role requires MA/MDiv, 4 CPE units (3 ACPE-accredited), board-certification eligibility within 18 months, and 3 years of clinical chaplaincy experience. Weekend/on-call coverage is expected.

Qualifications

• Completed graduate degree (MA or MDiv) in religious studies, theology, divinity or related field.
• 4 units of CPE, at least three accredited by ACPE (CPE not required in Georgia).
• Eligible for board certification as a chaplain: APC/BCCI, NACC, NAJC; completed within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers spiritual care and short-term counseling to patients, families, and staff.
• Responds to codes/crises and supports families, reporting safety concerns.
• Provides consultation to care teams and participates in rounds, committees, and education.
