Job summary

ICL in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a floater/on-call role in a residential setting. You will provide direct care to adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities, supporting daily living and skill development.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a NY DSP certificate, and valid driver’s license. Evening and weekend availability are required, with a minimum 24 hours per week and occasional on-site scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) Certificate from an accredited organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and health support, including hygiene, grooming, toileting, medication administration, vital signs, and medical appointments.
• Support nutrition and mealtime activities, including meal preparation, safe food handling, and social dining skills.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized residential environment, including housekeeping and fire safety.
• Promote development, independence, and community integration through skill-building, recreation, employment supports, and transportation.
• Encourage positive interpersonal relationships, communication skills, money management, and leisure activities.
• Observe, document, and report individual progress; participate in program planning and staff training.
• Apply approved behavior management techniques and respond to emergencies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned
