Job summary

ICL is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide comprehensive care in a Brooklyn residential setting. The role focuses on helping adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities achieve daily living skills and greater independence.

Onsite shifts run 3pm–11:30pm, Monday, Friday and Saturday, with a 24-hour weekly schedule. If required, candidates must obtain AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR/First Aid within six months and hold a NY driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Direct care experience with adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities preferred.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills required.
• Ability to work in a residential setting with supervision.
• DSP certification must be obtained within 6 months if not current.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and health support including hygiene, grooming, toileting, and medication administration (per AMAP).
• Support nutrition and mealtime activities and social dining skills.
• Maintain a safe, clean residential environment and assist with housekeeping and safety tasks.
• Promote independence and community integration through skill-building and transportation support.
• Observe, document, and report progress; participate in program planning and staff training.
