Job summary

ICL seeks a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for a residential program in Brooklyn, NY. The DSP supports adults with developmental and physical disabilities, providing daily living assistance under supervision.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and a DSP certificate (or ability to obtain within six months). Valid NY driver’s license may be required based on shift/location; AMAP/SCIP-R and CPR/First Aid are needed or obtainable soon.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) Certificate required or obtainable within 6 months.
• AMAP and SCIP-R certifications required or obtainable within 6 months.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required or obtainable within 6 months.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and health support, including hygiene, grooming, toileting, medication administration (AMAP).
• Support nutrition and mealtime activities, meal preparation, and social dining.
• Maintain a safe, clean residential environment and assist with minor maintenance.
• Promote independence and community integration through skill-building and transportation.
• Encourage communication, money management, and leisure activities.
• Document progress and participate in planning, meetings, and staff training.
• Apply behavior management techniques and respond to emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
