Job summary

Burton Center for Disabilities and Special Needs is seeking a Direct Support Professional to join its Residential Program in an Intermediate Care Facility. This second shift, full-time position runs weekdays 3:45pm–11:45pm with alternating weekends, totaling 40 hours per week.

You will provide person-centered support, assist with daily living skills, and promote independence for up to 8 adults with disabilities.

Qualifications

• SC Driver's License is required.
• Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50lbs.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
• Be adaptive, a team player, and advocate for others.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support in an Intermediate Care Facility setting.
• Implement person-centered training and encourage independence.
• Assist with meals, activities, and community engagement.
• Document progress and follow care and behavioral plans.
• Complete training for driving Burton Center vehicles and safety certifications.
