Job summary

Burton Center For Disabilities & Special Needs is seeking a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Residential Program in an Intermediate Care Facility. The role focuses on coaching, training, and hands-on support to adults with disabilities to enhance quality of life.

This second shift position averages 12–25 hours per week. Duties include implementing training, assisting with daily living activities, medication administration as needed, and engaging residents in community

Qualifications

• SC Driver's License
• Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50lbs
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods
• Adaptive, team player, and advocate for others
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to up to 8 adults in an ICF setting.
• Implement training programs and promote independence and community engagement.
• Assist with self-care, grooming, and daily living activities as per plans.
• Prepare light meals from the designated meal plan and follow behaviour support plans.
• Record progress using Therap and complete progress reports.
• Drive Burton Center vehicles and operate wheelchair lifts after training.
