Job summary

Burton Center is looking for a Direct Support Professional for a second shift, full-time role (Mon-Fri, 3:45pm – 11:45pm) to support up to four adults with disabilities in a Community Training Home. You will provide person-centered support, help with daily living skills, meals, hygiene, and community activities under structured training.

Qualifications include a valid SC driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, endurance to stand/walk, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• SC Driver's License required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.
• Ability to work adaptively as part of a team and advocate for others.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• All newly hired Burton Center staff must complete in-person orientation, MedTech, and complete online training prior to on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to up to 4 adults in a Community Training Home.
• Assist with daily living skills, personal hygiene and meals.
• Follow behavioral support plans and track progress using Therap.
• Drive Burton Center vehicles after training and operate wheelchair lifts as needed.
