Job summary

The Ohio State University is hiring a Veterinary Customer Services Representative for the Small Animal Reception team on the 3rd shift. This full-time role (40 hours/week) includes evenings and weekends with potential shift differential.

Duties cover front-line client services, calls, admissions, and privacy-compliant handling of money and records. Minimum qualifications include 2 years in customer service within healthcare or veterinary settings, EMR experience, and ability to work

Qualifications

2 years of experience in a customer service, healthcare or veterinary care environment.
Background in customer services, insurance verification and/or veterinary practice customer services.
Ability to work independently while interacting with customers, visitors, clinicians, technicians and all other medical center faculty and staff.
Experience in analyzing and interpreting information.
Experience with electronic medical records systems and/or operating computers.

Responsibilities

Respond to routine, complex and medical emergency situations in a professional manner.
Answer and direct internal and external calls appropriately.
Create accurate day-to-day admitting information through hospital computer system.
Resolve routine problems and complex situations using medical terminology, office practices and procedures, and established customer service principles.
Maintain safe and accurate money handling practices and abide by all university privacy standards.
Other duties as assigned.
