Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Organizational skills and ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Good judgment in solving problems, making decisions, handling complaints and resolving grievances.
• Desire and ability to lead and manage associates across multiple departments.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and physical requirements.
• National Registry of Food Safety Professionals accreditation or equivalent, or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with day-to-day store operations.
• Hire, train, and develop store associates.
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal, and disciplinary actions.
• Provide leadership to promote Food Lion's principles, values, vision and strategy.
• Maintain control of store funds and assets; ensure safety and security standards.
• Ensure compliance with policies, security, safety, and food safety standards.
• Use company tools and systems (ACIS, scheduling, CAO, reports) to drive results.
• Support achievement of store budgeted financial and operating results.
• Maximize sales through customer service and minimize shrink through proper practices.
• Ensure staffing meets business needs and provide ongoing training to associates.
• Complete CBT and training packets; perform other duties as assigned.
