Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Good judgment solving problems, making decisions, handling complaints and disputes.
• Desire and ability to lead and manage associates across departments.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements; accreditation as Food Safety Manager or able to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with the day-to-day operations of the entire store.
• Responsible for hiring, training, and developing associates.
• Manage performance through performance management, coaching, appraisal and disciplinary efforts.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and easy customer service.
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store to reflect Food Lion's values and strategy.
• Ensure proper control of all store funds and assets.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Use company tools such as ACIS, CAO, scheduling and business information systems for decision making.
• Support achievement of store budgeted financial and operating results.
• Maximize sales through customer service and minimize shrink through standard practices.
• Ensure staffing schedules meet business needs across departments.
• Complete CBT and training courses.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
