Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lead across multiple departments.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and physical requirements.
• National Registry of Food Safety Professionals Certified Food Safety Manager or able to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with day-to-day store operations.
• Hire, train, and develop associates.
• Manage performance through coaching, appraisal and disciplinary actions.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness and service.
• Provide leadership aligned with Food Lion's values and strategy.
• Control store funds and assets; ensure security and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with safety, food safety and company policies.
• Manage staffing across departments to meet business needs.
• Complete CBT and training courses as required.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
