Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
• Strong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Good judgment solving problems, making decisions, handling complaints and resolving grievances.
• Desire and ability to lead and manage associates across multiple departments.
• Must meet minimum age requirements and physical requirements.
• National Registry of Food Safety Professionals accreditation or ability to obtain it within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager with the day-to-day operations of the entire store.
• Responsible for hiring, training, and developing associates.
• Manage performance through performance management, coaching, appraisal and disciplinary efforts.
• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast and easy customer service.
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote Food Lion's Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision and Strategy.
• Ensure proper control of all store funds and company assets.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with safety and food safety standards.
• Understand and use company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, ordering, and business information systems.
• Support achievement of store budgeted financial and operating results.
• Maximize sales through excellent customer service and minimize shrink through proper practices.
• Ensure store conditions, customer service and satisfaction, product quality, freshness, availability, variety and execution of all policies.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
• Staffing schedules meet business needs; interact with associates to ensure tools and training are available.
• Complete CBT and Training materials as required.
• Perform all other duties and projects as assigned
