Job summary

Economic Mobility Pathways (EMPath) is seeking a Residential Assistant for the Brighton shelter in Boston, MA. Evening shift from 3pm to 12am, Thursday–Sunday, supporting shelter operations, housing access, and resident needs.

The role focuses on facility operations, safety, and a welcoming environment rather than individual caseloads. Ideal candidates bring compassion, strong communication, and problem-solving skills; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Shelter Operations & Support: log attendance, prep rooms, support daily procedures.
• Facility Management: assist with heating, meals, and clean, safe living spaces.
• Environmental Support: respond to resident needs and keep daily activities running smoothly.
• Participant Engagement: assist participants with housing applications and accessing resources.
• Community Facilitation: participate in meetings and lead or assist with mini-workshops.
