Job summary

Community Teamwork in Lowell, MA is seeking a Lead Residential Counselor for a full-time evening shift (Mon-Fri, 4pm-12am) to support women in a congregate emergency shelter. The role involves life skills coaching, trauma-informed care, safety oversight, and enforcing program rules to help families achieve stability.

Responsibilities include screening, intake, incident documentation, and coordinating with staff to ensure site operations and client well-being.

Qualifications

• Desire to work with low-income, culturally diverse, and at-risk families.
• Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient computer skills for basic software and data collection.
• Excellent crisis management skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of resources for low-income individuals and families.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completing screening, intake activities and orientation of new families.
• Aid clients with compliance to program expectations under supervision.
• Monitor other locations' Residential Counselors during shift.
• Oversee security and safety with interior and exterior checks during shift.
• Respond to On-Call Emergency situations.
• Document critical incidents and safety issues using the program system.
• Ensure cleanliness of kitchen and dining area and perform daily housekeeping.
• Coordinate orientation of new clients entering the program.
• Provide emergency crisis management to families.
