Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts' Ibis Sky Lounge in Port Everglades seeks a friendly server to deliver exceptional guest service in a rooftop setting with sweeping water views. You will greet guests, set tables, upsell food and beverages, coordinate with the culinary team, and handle MICROS transactions accurately while keeping work areas clean and organized.

Requirements include a minimum of 1 year serving experience, TIPS and ServSafe certifications, and strong English communication; weekend and holiday

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year serving experience.
• Must acquire TIPS and ServSafe certifications.
• Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting wines.
• Previous cash handling experience required.
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers.
• Ability to accurately input information into MICROS.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with a calm and welcoming demeanor.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers inside and outside your department.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests using All-In impression standards.
• Set tables according to event type and service standards.
• Suggestively sell items and answer questions on food and beverage menus.
• Communicate with culinary team regarding meal requirements, allergies, and special requests.
• Record transactions in MICROS and process payments.
• Adhere to cash handling standards.
• Ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage.
• Present accurate checks to guests and process payments.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas.
• Station set-up and breakdown/side-work.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
• Be pleasant, smile and greet guests, using surnames when obtained.
