Job summary

Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel is seeking a friendly food and beverage server for the Ibis Sky Lounge, a rooftop retreat with sweeping Intracoastal views. The role requires serving, guest engagement, and collaboration with culinary staff to meet dietary needs and event requirements.

You will handle transactions, maintain high service standards, and ensure guests have a memorable experience while working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year serving experience.
• Must acquire TIPS and ServSafe certifications.
• Developed knowledge of wine, spirits, and beer with experience selling and presenting wines.
• Previous cash handling experience required.
• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers.
• Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS.
• Ability to handle stressful situations, while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-stars within and outside of your department.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests and needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent customer service, service recovery and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.

• Ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage.
• Present accurate check to guest and process payment.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
• Station set-up and breakdown/side-work.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by leadership.
• Be pleasant, smile and greet all guests, using surnames when obtained.

The Omni Ft. Lauderdale Hotel is a 29-story hotel, located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, and connected directly to the Broward County Convention. The property offers 801 guest rooms and suites, multiple restaurants, a vibrant rooftop bar, a sprawling pool, spa, and fitness center. The hotel has over 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms and pre-function meeting space with waterfront views.

JOB PURPOSE: To provide exceptional service to all guests in accordance with Omni standards at Ibis Sky Lounge, an indoor-outdoor rooftop retreat offering sweeping views of the Intracoastal Waterway and coastline.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Adhere to all Omni rules, policies, procedures, and standards
